It’s day 22 of my winter 30 for 30 remix, and I am finally adding in my “wild card” item – this pair of black sequin shorts! First, a little about how these shorts came to exist in my closet. I did not put myself on a shopping ban as a part of my 30 for 30 “rules.” Last weekend I ventured to TJ Maxx (solo, I might add, which is a real treat to this new mama). I had some great finds, most of which will need to be saved until after my 30 for 30 is over. I found these shorts on the clearance rack for a mere $10! It wasn’t until I tried them on that I realized how much I needed wanted them. They’re surprisingly soft (they are crushed velvet with the sequins sewed on), and are a fun alternative to a sequin skirt.
I’ve always been a sucker for the juxtaposition of casual plaid paired with something fancy like sequins or pearls. I’ve pinned SO many variations of that theme (see here, here, or here), so the first thing I wanted to pair my sparkly shorts with was my trusty plaid button up. I’m looking forward to exploring different ways style these shorts, both dressed up and dressed down. Life is short, bust out the sequins!

Thank you! They were too fun to resist! ;)
These shorts are gorgeous! I am in lust with them and I can’t believe you got them for $10 – what a score! I love how you dressed them down a little with the flannel, such a stylish look.
